It's Monday - or almost anyway

I have to admit it, I'm still working my way through "The Weight of Water" by Anita Shreve. I've been having a tough time with this one. I'm halfway through it now and want to finish because I want to know the whole story (there's a murder that I still don't know what happened), but it keeps bouncing back and forth from past to present, and I'm really not interested in the present storyline. I've been debating leaving it and moving onto the book calling my name on my bedside table - The Sons of Encouragement Series by Francine Rivers (all nicely bound into one book), but I don't do well at reading more than one book at once. I guess I'm just trying to look for a way to push though this so I can move on.

I felt the same weight with The Weight of Water.....it was too much back and forth and I felt hurried near the end....wanting to skip storylines. Not my favorite read to be sure.

I haven't read it. I read one Shreve a long time ago and wasn't overly impressed so haven't went back. I know there are a lot of people who enjoy her reads.opi

Love Shreve, but haven't read this one...could you sort of skim through the boring parts?

I love Anita Shreve also, but I'm still working on her backlist. Hopefully it will get better and you can finish it.

I have not read any Shreve actually but I think I'll wait on this one considering I'm having a hard time staying focused on the weighter books lately.

I am a Shreve fan and enjoyed The Weight of Water. Maybe you are just not in the mood for that book at this time? Move on to another book and try it at a later date. I know people who read several books at once, I am unable to do that.

I hope Weight of Water gets better in the second half. I like most of her books but haven't read this.

That's a tough one, to keep going and hope it improves or put it aside for a while?? Good luck which ever way you go.

Here's my Monday post
